Last week, the Systems, Robotics & Vision Group (SRV) of the University of the Balearic Islands (UIB), in collaboration with Universitat Jaume I (UJI), successfully completed the first experimental tests of the MASAI project at the CIRTESU water tank.
During these sessions, the Girona 500 AUV was used to test the automated exploration of fish farm nets, aiming to detect damages and guide the robot’s manipulator for potential repairs. These tests represent an important step forward in the development of underwater technologies within the framework of the TANDEM project.
